You are receiving this e-mail because either your company sells Foie Gras or because you are a member of the Crown Group whose members include Midsummer House and The Headley that are both headed up by chef Daniel Clifford and both sell Foie Gras.

Foie Gras is commonly produced by shoving a pipe down the throat of a duck or goose. This process causes the animal’s liver to swell painfully and many birds die even before getting to slaughter. The process is considered so unethical that it is illegal in the UK and therefore Foie Gras is imported from countries with lower animal welfare standards in this regard.

The continued sale of this product, dubbed ‘torture in a tin’, is simply not acceptable. It is time the Crown Group moved into the 21st century. A number of other businesses are now Foie Gras free, don’t let the Crown Groups image be left behind!

If you are selling Foie Gras please take this cruel product off the menu. If you are another Crown Group member business please put pressure on the Crown Group to look after your overall reputation by implementing a Foie Gras free policy. Looking forward to your responses.
